In the Long Jump, you get measured by how short you have fallen. Where your feet planted would be your measurement of success, not your face.
Track and field is pretty pessimistic, though.

Now I'm trying hard to picture someone crawling on their face. I'm pretty sure that if you fall on your face the forward movement is temporaire. And even then only if you're not standing in the wrong direction. :P
